TRIP IS NOW OPENED TO THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN OUT WITH US ONCE BEFORE. PLEASE NOTE IF YOU CAN BRING A CAMPER AND GENERATOR OR AN AIR MATTRESS IN THE TELL US ABOUT YOU SECTION AND HOW MANY YOU CAN SLEEP IN YOUR CAMPER IF YOU CAN BRING ONE.

Hunting with Soldiers is hosting 20 Combat Veterans (This number may increase) for a deer hunt out of San Saba, Texas. Arrival is Friday, January 12th and departure is Sunday January 14th. We will be having Breakfast at Fathers House Church Saturday morning. Meals and housing are supplied. Veteran only needs to bring a couple or more ice chests for the meat, weapon & knives for cleaning their kill, bedding, & towel and washrag. If the Veteran does not have a firearm, they just need to let us know. We have a few for them to use. You must have and show proof of a valid Texas Hunting License. Where we are staying has accommodations, but we need some to bring air mattresses due to not enough beds. Or you can bring your RV. We would like to ask that you allow a couple of Veterans to sleep in there as well. But there may not be an RV hookup so a generator may be needed. In your application, on the Section that states, "Tell Us a little about yourself" please put down if you have an air mattress or if you wish to bring an RV (We need these more than those with air mattresses). Also if you can bring an RV, and you wish to let a couple of others sleep in it, please advise how many beds are available in the RV, not the table that make out into a bed or the couch.

You can not have hunted with Hunting with Soldiers before, or hunted or fished with more than 2 other Organizations, or multiple times with the same Organization to qualify (Our Dove Hunt and Sweat Equity Hunts do not count). Please note "DO NOT COMPLETE THE APPLICATION IF YOU HAVE BEEN OUT WITH US ON A PRIOR HUNT, NOT INCLUDING THE SWEAT EQUITY HUNTS AND DOVE HUNTS. WE WILL UPDATE THE POST ALLOWING APPLICATIONS OF THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN OUT WITH US BEFORE IF WE CAN NOT FILL THE SPOTS IN A TIMELY MANNER. You must not be on the list as going on another hunt with HwS as well. If you are chosen, and you are on the Reserve List for another hunt, please advise after you are chosen. Person chosen must send copy of DD214, or, if still Active Duty, the forms to show proof of being in Combat, to huntingwithsoldiers@live.com.
