This trip is being posted Dec. 7, 2025 at 8:40 AM. If you have been on a previous hunt with HwS, other than sweat equity or dove, then do not put in for this unless it has not closed by 8:40 Am on Dec. 08. If it has not closed by then, you may apply. ​​

Hunting with Soldiers is seeking 4 Combat Veterans for a Sandhill Crane Hunt out of Childress, TX. with Straight Flush Outfitters. Arrival is Friday December 19th and departure is Sunday December 21st. "Housing only" will be supplied on this trip. Your meals will be up to you. You will need your own shotgun (Make sure it is not the short self defence shotgun, and yes, it has happened) and ammunition (3" Steel Shot #2 or larger od 3" #4 or larger lead). You will also need ice chests for your meat and knives to clean your kill (If you do not know how, you will be instruction on how to do it). You MUST NOT have hunted with Hunting with Soldiers before (Sweat equity trips and dove hunt do not count) or have been out with more than 2 other Veteran organizations, or multiple times with the same one (We do check).
